WatchGuard UTM Quarantine Server shows nothing

Hi spciceheads,

For some reasons our current Quarantine Server does not show any quarantined message.

When I tried to open Quarantine Server Message and User Management console, it showed nothing there.

However if I tried to view Quarantine Server statistics, it did list that there were some emails marked as BULK. This is new quarantine server that I just deployed to replace old one having hardware issue. The old server received and showed quarantined emails fine. After installing new quarantine server, I did update our Log Server from WatchGuard System Manager accordingly to add our new server to the list.

Does anyone have same issue before?

Regards,

Peter

Release notes: https://www.watchguard.com/support/release-notes/fireware/12/en-US/EN_ReleaseNotes_Fireware_12_5/ind....

I upgraded two T35 boxes from 12.5 to 21.5 Update 1 without issue, then tried a T10 and it won't upgrade from PM nor from the web UI by direct download from WatchGuard nor by T10.sysa-dl file, even after a reboot.

Direct upgrade attempt of the T10 with file download from WG gives:

Unable to upgrade the OS directly from WatchGuard. If this problem persists, use an upgrade file to upgrade the OS.
Error: 0

Trying to upgrade from the web UI using a file, I got this error:

An error occurred in the upgrade process: 161 Backup failed: Reserve RAM failed. Please run the backup when system load is lower. Upgrade canceled. No changes were made to the Firebox.

I am once again haunted by that pesky lack of memory. To top it off, it...

Can't RDP from Mac from certain WiFi location- Watchguard IKEv2

Hi guys,

I have a client who travels and at a certain relative's of his, he used to be able to remote desktop into a server at a remote location fine. Recently, it's stopped. He can't think of any changes that have been made on the network.

We are using a watchguard firewall on the server end and connecting him using IKEv2.

He has to use his phone's hotspot before he can RDP in properly, otherwise , he can ping the watchguard, but not the server.

Any ideas?

Firewall causing modem to disconnect?

I have a customer that has been having internet issues for the past few months. The connection randomly drops several times per day. Comcast says that they replaced the cables and the modem and claims there are no issues on their end. However, the customer confirms that when there is an outage, the connectivity lights on the modem are off. After a few minutes they start blinking again and they reconnect. The modem is connected to a battery backup which we confirmed is working. Plug was pulled and modem stays online. The Watchguard firewall logs show the link monitor failure and the interface going down at the same time the modem resets. Comcast is blaming the internal network? They are saying that it is caused by a network issue like an IP conflict or something? This makes no sense to me. The firewall is the only thing connected to the...

SpiceWorld is coming up in less than two weeks and we're excited to be sponsoring the event again! We'll be at Booth #21, giving away WatchGuard socks, Star Wars LEGO sets, and Beats headphones.

But more than that, we'll be shooting a few video testimonials with IT pros talking all about their experiences using WatchGuard. We're still looking for candidates to participate during SpiceWorld, so please let me know if you'll be at the conference and are interested in filming.

Thanks in advance!

Firebox T30

Hello:

Yesterday the firebox quit working. The " mode" light indicator on the front of the firebox went off and there is not internet or connectivity in the lan network. I called and confirmed with my ISP that their signal is up and running.

Everything I read so far about the firebox is that when the internet connection fails the mode light flashes but nothing in regards to the light been completely off.

I tried the obvious restart the unit but didn't work. Any ideas?
Thanks In advance

Webproxy and SSL certificate

Hi,

it might be a strange question, but how can I set a SSL certificate for a certain domain name? We are using Watchguard as webproxy for our servers. With the help of HTTP Content action and pattern matching we forward an http request to the right server. We are also using TLS/SSL offloading to unload certain servers. We have an official certificate for file.example.com and now I want to associate this certificate to the right HTTP content action. How can I do this?

Thanks,

Florian

Facebook images not showing for devices behind firewall.

Got one that has me pulling my hair out. Have had our T30W setup for about a year now, working great. Recently had an unmanaged switch die (also behind the firewall,) so I moved my important connections from that switch to another on the same rack until my replacement switch comes in. No problems there.

Everything critical is back online and working fine for now EXCEPT Facebook images and videos don't load for any device behind the firewall. The Facebook pages themselves load quickly, just no images or video. I haven't found any other issues on any other website or application. My cloud ERP is running perfectly. Just stupid Facebook is broken, lol.

I can't see anything being denied in the error logs, and I've tried explicit exceptions for *.facebook.com just to troubleshoot with no luck.

Watchguard, phone system, and QoS

I am having big issues with my phone system and voice between locations.  The sound quality is degraded with a lot of echoing and sound cutting in and out.   The layout is a system at each of my locations.  They are connected via what ESI calls ESILink.  They are connected via public IP addresses and the communications flows over this.  My  main office is running an M370 and the satellite office is running a T55.

When we call from one location to another we are getting this voice loss and echo.  Internally everything works fine.   I suspect some kind of packet loss being the culprit.

I dont know a lot about QoS but I'm told this might be an option.  Anyone have any experience that can chime in?

Hello everyone ,

im new to watchguard, our company buy Firebox M270. I know there is external interface ( for public address ) and trusted for company address ( automatically is 10.0.1.0) . And i want to know how to configure Setup Wizard.

Our network work in bridge mode, so address from our internet provider enters to specified port in our Mikrotik. Its enough to plugged ETH0 ( external ) to any switch ?

Then in Menu Setup Wizard , external is configure to DHCP, and in trusted I must enter my local network : 192.168.1.0/24 ? 10.0.1,0 network is only for default settings?

Thank you for any suggestions!

Forgotten Password for Watchguard Report Server

HI,

I seem to have forgotten the password to connect to the Watchguard Reporting server.

If I go to File > connect to server from the Watchguard System Manager I get an authentication request which won;t accept the password that I thought it ws.

If I go to the Watchguard server icon in the system tray, right click and choose Open Watchguard server centre I can log in using the password that was rejected before.

I'm assuming these passwords are different? Is there anyway to reset the one for the Reporting server?

Thanks.

We're really excited to announce the release of a new product from Watchguard, DNSWatchGo! Today, three-quarters of global employees work remotely at least one day a week. As a result, more and more of your business is being conducted off-network and outside of your traditional security tools.

Our team developed DNSWatchGo as a response to the numerous potential threats from remote workers. So, how does it work?

DNSWatchGo provides DNS-level protection and content filtering that keeps your business safe from phishing, ransomware, and other attacks even when your user is outside of the network, without requiring a VPN. Additional features include:

  • Proactively identifying DNS requests bound for malicious content and stops risky clicks from becoming major security incidents
  • Monitors and correlates the DNS traffic against our intelligence...

Watchguard VPN Client hung on connection

I just ran into an issue with the Watchguard SSL VPN client that I found interesting and it took me a bit to figure out. I thought I would try and save others some headache!

I have an SSL VPN setup on a firewall with pretty standard settings. There's HTTP(S) proxies and the system is joined to AD with the Watchguard SSO agent on the server. Several users were able to sign into the VPN with no issues but I ran into a problem with one of the users connecting.

The authentication worked, but after the auth step, the client simply hung for a while, then disconnected. Nothing appeared in the client logs, and the last thing in the firewall log was "watchguard vpn remote ip() is not an agent address".

It turned out that I needed to add an exception to the WebBlocker for the name on the domain that I was connecting to! (SSL-VPN client is...

I reset this Watchguard T10 model back to factory defaults. Now when I web into https://10.0.1.1:8080 it asks for the username and password AND this Authentication server field with Firebox-DB, RADIUS, LDAP, or Active Directory.

What gives? Last time I did this I did not see an Authentication Server field.

Poll: Who is using HTTPS Content Inspection?
I started working on enabling it, have my certificate deployed to domain computers via group policy, and have tested it out.
However, we have many computers not on the domain so we'll need to deal with those first.
Is it worth deploying?

WatchGuard Messing up WiFi - one end user at a time!!!!!!! (Fools)

So, one of our facilities had an odd WiFi outage. In System Manager an AP shows like this...(Notice the new "Activation Status" column.

So, if you have an AP that is not CURRENTLY REGISTERED it is going to fail! Those of us who have had WatchGuard WiFi for years and years are no longer going to have any reason to not get Meraki!!!!

Support tells me that "Any device that is currently running and not active will not be effected AS LONG AS no changes are made to the AP - as in, at all. DHCP? Yep, that breaks it.

The ONLY option is to pay for a license for a device that you have had potentially for years. Or, no WiFi for you.

I have proven that this "Feature" is part of 12.5.1...some "update". Now, I have WAY more reason to continue my migration away from WG and to Meraki.....

Even funner as I have called out WatchGuards support here on the...

I have a T10-W Watchguard device now and was wondering if it allows us to connect to it from outside the company via VPN? From what I was reading, it looks like it only does a branch office vpn type connection.
